The level of urban development in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City has had a great impact on the quality of the environment in recent years, particularly has caused water pollution in canal systems in the area: including those going past Zone I and II of TDTU. High-nutrient domestic wastewater from nearby residential areas discharged into the canal system has resulted in pollution.
