2025 - CARBON & ENERGY SUMMER CAMP: A JOURNEY OF KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE, CULTURAL SHARING, AND LASTING MEMORIES

At noon on July 11, 2025, at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety (ENLABSAFE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), bid an emotional farewell to the international student delegation, officially concluding the “2025 - Carbon & Energy Summer Camp”, a program filled with meaningful experiences and heartfelt moments.

Held from June 10 to July 11, 2025, the summer camp welcomed 12 students and one professor from Ming Chi University of Technology (Taiwan) and Mahasarakham University (Thailand). This unique short-term program was designed to connect international students with Vietnam’s academic environment and cultural richness through a blended learning model that integrated online theoretical coursework with in-person experiential learning.

During the first three weeks, students participated in online classes covering in-depth topics in energy, environment, and sustainable development, such as bioenergy from food waste, carbon capture technologies, microalgae applications in sustainability, and GIS-based air quality assessment. These specialized topics are directly taught by ENLABSAFE's full-time lecturers and researchers, combined with exercises and group discussions, helping students actively and comprehensively acquire knowledge.

The on-site component began on July 1, 2025, when students arrived at TDTU for in-person academic and cultural activities. Highlights included academic seminars, group presentations, and vibrant interactions with Vietnamese students. The program culminated in two immersive field trips, one to Cat Tien National Park, where students explored rich biodiversity and ancient forests, and another to Da Lat City, where they experienced Vietnam’s highland culture, coffee plantations, and scenic landscapes.

Beyond its academic focus, the program served as a bridge for friendship, international collaboration, and cross-cultural understanding among students from different countries. The smiles and heartfelt goodbyes marked the end of a transformative journey at TDTU.

The 2025 - Carbon & Energy Summer Camp concluded with resounding success, igniting hope and enthusiasm for future vibrant and meaningful international summer programs at Ton Duc Thang University.
