Environmental Technology and Bioremediation Research Group

  • 1. General Introduction

The Strong Research Group under the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety, Ton Duc Thang University, is a pioneering unit of TDTU in the field of Environmental Technology and Bioremediation research.

    • Vietnamese Name: Environmental Technology and Bioremediation Research Group
    • English Name: Environmental Technology and Bioremediation Research Group
    • Abbreviation: EnBIO Lab

    2. Objectives

    • Promote research in ecology, natural resources, and environment.

    • Develop and train a team of young scientists and high-quality, innovative research personnel, contributing to the development of scientific resources for applied research and technological development in ecology, natural resources, and environment.

    3. Main Research Directions

    • Identify typical emerging pollutants (EPs) in Vietnam, assess their toxicity, life cycle within ecosystems, and accumulation potential in aquatic environments.

    • Develop effective treatment processes and materials based on environmental biotechnology, specific microorganisms, nanomaterials, or advanced oxidation processes to enhance EP degradation efficiency.

    • Design and fabricate highly sensitive IoT sensor systems with real-time data transmission capability and integrated analytical–predictive algorithms for operational optimization.

    • Build pilot-scale integrated monitoring–treatment–automatic control models and evaluate their effectiveness for several representative wastewater sources.

    • Propose comprehensive solution packages and application procedures for large-scale implementation, contributing to sustainable development goals and enhancing environmental management capacity.
