Academic exchange workshop under the ASEAN IVO project

On the morning of February 16th, 2023, the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) cooperated with the Faculty of Chemical Engineering - University of Sain Malaysia (USM, Malaysia) and the Institute of Information Technology and National Communications of Japan (NICT, Japan) organized an academic exchange workshop under the framework of the ASEAN IVO scientific research cooperation project with the topic "IoT system in water reuse model in developing countries".

Workshop took place in 2 days 2023 February 16th and 17th with the participation of Prof. Leo Choe Peng - ASEAN IVO project leader, lecturer at USM's School of Chemical Engineering; Dr. Hiroshi EMOTO - Director of International Research Development Office, Global Alliance Division of NICT; Dr. Matsumura Takeshi - Director of the Wireless Systems Laboratory, Wireless Network Research Center of NICT; together with Professors, PhDs, and Researchers of the project.

Prof. Leo Choe Peng expressed his pleasure to directly participate in this academic exchange workshop at the opening ceremony; At the same time, this workshop is hoped that the reported and exchanged research results will be a premise to develop and propose appropriate solutions to improve water reuse systems in developing countries.

Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Acting Director of the Institute for International Cooperation, Research and Training (INCRETI) affirmed that TDTU is always ready to support and participate in cooperation projects to research practical scientific topics in order to develop practical science and technology for social development and tighten the sustainable relationship between Universities, Research Institutes of Vietnam, Malaysia and Japan.

The reports in the workshop were made around the topic of water reuse, IoT technology application to survey energy consumption of the air-conditioning system, application of membrane filtration technique, AnMBR technique to treat wastewater management, environmental monitoring of aquatic pond water, etc., were reported and discussed by experts, scientists and researchers under the ASEAN IVO project. This is not only an opportunity to promote cooperation and strengthen relationships between members of the research team but also create conditions for lecturers, researchers, and TDTU's network of friendly businesses in the field of environment and electronics in order to share scientific research results, exchange professional experiences, create a premise to improve teaching quality and effectively apply research achievements into practice.
