Academic workshop on Occupational Safety and Health at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)

On October 29, 2024, the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in collaboration with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) organized a workshop to exchange academic knowledge and discuss cooperation plans in teaching, training and scientific research with the theme "Enhancing Workplace Safety: A Deep Dive into Industrial Hygiene".

The workshop aims to update new approaches in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), thereby improving knowledge and skills for lecturers, students and experts in the field of OSH. The program includes reports and discussions on:

  • The role of AIHA in promoting global occupational safety.
  • Practical approaches to OSH.
  • Opportunities for cooperation and solutions to improve professional capacity in the field of occupational health in Vietnam.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Director of the International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute (INCRETI) and lecturers of the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety. On the side of the AIHA association, Ms. Nicole Greeson - President of the association and a delegation of 20 experts from international universities such as Duke University, Purdue University,... In addition, the workshop also had the participation of experts in the field of occupational safety and health and some representatives of large enterprises in Vietnam such as SGS Vietnam, Safety Care Vietnam, Vietnam Industrial Hygiene Association (VIHA), Intel Products Vietnam Group.

The workshop will open up many opportunities to promote cooperation programs and plans in training and scientific research between the two units, contributing to enhancing the reputation and brand of TDTU in the international community.
