Ceremony Announcing The Establishment Of The Environmental Technology And Bioremediation Research Group

On 17 June 2026, Ton Duc Thang University held the Ceremony Announcing the Establishment of the University’s Strong Research Groups at Hall 10F. The event marked an important milestone in the University’s strategy for advancing science and technology, innovation, and knowledge transfer, contributing to its orientation toward becoming an advanced research university with strong international integration.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the Environmental Technology and Bioremediation Research Group, under the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety, was officially announced. The group’s Vietnamese name is Nhóm Nghiên cứu Công nghệ Môi trường và Xử lý Sinh học, and its abbreviated name is EnBIO Lab. The group is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Luu.

EnBIO Lab is oriented toward becoming a specialized research group in the fields of environmental technology and bioremediation. The group focuses on conducting high-quality research to address urgent challenges related to the environment, natural resources, and sustainable development. Its key research directions include the identification and assessment of emerging pollutants; the development of environmental biotechnology, treatment materials, and advanced oxidation processes; and the design of IoT-based sensor systems, as well as integrated monitoring–treatment–automatic control models for environmental treatment applications.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Luu, representing the strong research groups, expressed sincere appreciation for the attention, trust, and support of the University’s Presidential Board. He also affirmed the group’s commitment to promoting responsibility, collaboration, and creativity in order to enhance research quality, expand academic cooperation, promote scientific publications, and strengthen technology transfer.

The establishment of the Environmental Technology and Bioremediation Research Group – EnBIO Lab represents a significant milestone for the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety in strengthening research capacity, integrating education with scientific research, and serving the community. With its modern, interdisciplinary, and application-oriented research direction, the group is expected to make meaningful contributions to the development of the University, while also helping address environmental challenges in the context of sustainable development.
