Faculty Of Environment And Labour Safety Ton Duc Thang University Signs Cooperation Agreement With The Sub-Institute Of Hydrometeorology, Environment And Marine Sciences

On September 29, 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety (ENLABSAFE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), held a working session and signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Sub-Institute of Hydrometeorology, Environment and Marine Sciences (SIMHEMS). The collaboration aims to strengthen the connection between higher education and specialized scientific research, laying the foundation for expanded cooperation in education, scientific research, student internships, and human resource development.

Under the Cooperation Agreement, the two parties agreed to focus on five key areas:

1. Education and scientific research: The two parties will jointly propose and implement research projects, scientific publications, technology applications, and technology transfer activities. They will also facilitate the sharing of laboratory resources, equipment, and specialized databases, while promoting expert participation in curriculum development, teaching, seminars, and academic discussions.
2. Site visits, internships, and professional traineeships: The two parties will jointly develop annual plans, quotas, and internship opportunities. ENLABSAFE will conduct preliminary student selection and recommend suitable candidates, while SIMHEMS will receive the students, assign supervisors, and evaluate their performance.
3. Career orientation and student skills development: The two parties will collaborate in organizing career counseling activities, job fairs, and skills development programs, providing students with greater exposure to professional environments and enhancing their competencies to meet practical workplace requirements.
4. Recruitment and human resource development: The cooperation will strengthen employment connections for students. SIMHEMS will give priority to recruiting ENLABSAFE students, particularly those with strong internship performance, while the Faculty will support the dissemination of relevant recruitment information to students.
5. Sharing of facilities and services: The two parties will facilitate the appropriate sharing and use of facilities for professional activities and event organization, subject to specific agreements.

A key feature of the agreement is its emphasis on connecting education and scientific research with practical needs. Under the signed agreement, research topics, projects, and scientific publications may be developed based on SIMHEMS's practical needs and ENLABSAFE's academic and research strengths. The two institutions will also facilitate access to and sharing of laboratories, equipment, and specialized databases.

Beyond scientific research, the partnership will broaden opportunities for students to gain practical learning and professional experience through site visits, internships, professional traineeships, career counseling, and skills development activities. These initiatives will help strengthen the connection between the academic knowledge acquired at TDTU and real-world research and professional practice.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement provides a foundation for ENLABSAFE and SIMHEMS to progressively implement specific collaborative programs, leverage the professional strengths of both institutions, and further strengthen the linkage between education – scientific research – practical application – human resource development.
