Environmental Sustainability Summer Camp Program at Ming Chi University of Technology
From June 16 to June 24, 2024, students from the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) participated in the Environmental Sustainability Summer Camp at Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) in Taiwan. This program aimed not only to enhance the students' professional knowledge and skills but also to provide an opportunity to experience an international learning environment and cultural exchange. Additionally, it promoted collaboration following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TDTU and MCUT, contributing to the development of TDTU's brand and international cooperation activities.
During the program, students attended various in-depth classes on seven specialized topics related to environmental sustainability, including: The Butterfly Effect, The Recycling Revolution, Air Quality Index and its Health Implications, Classical Water Filtration Devices, Applications of Science and Technology in the Environmental Field, and Environmental Microorganisms. Students also had the opportunity to engage in practical sessions and visit modern laboratories at MCUT, applying the knowledge they had learned in real-world scenarios.
In addition to academic sessions, the program included numerous cultural exchange and sightseeing activities. Students visited the MCUT campus and facilities, interacted with local students, toured the Formosa Plastics Group Museum, and went on field trips to Yilan and the Taipei satellite urban area. These activities not only helped students gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture and environment but also expanded their international networks.
The Environmental Sustainability Summer Camp brought significant benefits to the students of the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety. It enhanced their professional knowledge and English proficiency, provided them with the opportunity to experience an international academic environment, and developed their communication and teamwork skills. Moreover, the program strengthened the collaborative relationship between TDTU and MCUT, boosting TDTU's reputation and promoting its international cooperation activities.
We sincerely thank the Board of Directors of TDTU, relevant departments, and MCUT for their support and facilitation in making this program a success. The participating students were very satisfied and expressed a desire for more international learning and exchange opportunities in the future!
