Academic Exchange Workshop between the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety (TDTU) and the Faculty of Engineering – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)

On the morning of October 8, 2025, at Meeting Room C – Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety (ENLABSAFE) organized an Academic Exchange Workshop with the Faculty of Engineering – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

The event aimed to strengthen international cooperation in education, scientific research, and student exchange between the two faculties.

Representing UMS were Dr. Mohammad Kamel Wan Ibrahim, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Program, Dr. Nor Fazliana Binti Abdullah, Head of the Oil and Gas Engineering Program, along with 15 students from the Faculty of Engineering. Representing TDTU were Dr. Ho Ngo Anh Dao, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety, together with faculty members and student representatives from the Safety & Environment Club (SE Club).

The Workshop took place in a professional and open academic atmosphere, featuring insightful thematic presentations such as:

Industrial Accident Prevention Skills” – Dr. Thi Ngoc Bao Dung (TDTU);

International Student Mobility in the Faculty of Engineering, UMS” – Dr. Mohammad Kamel Wan Ibrahim (UMS).

During the parallel discussion sessions, the leadership of both faculties engaged in in-depth dialogue on strategic collaboration directions, including student exchange programs and joint academic activities. Meanwhile, students from both universities had the opportunity to enhance cultural connections and share learning experiences, fostering mutual understanding and sustainable cooperation between TDTU and UMS.

The Workshop concluded in a spirit of friendship and collaboration, marking a new milestone in the academic partnership between TDTU and UMS. The event also reaffirmed Ton Duc Thang University’s commitment to expanding its international cooperation network and enhancing the quality of education and research in alignment with global standards.
