Discussion with Ashigara Environment Company
On April 19, 2024, the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety held discussions with Ashigara Environment Company regarding potential investments and the development of environmental projects and environmental education projects in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas. The Faculty representatives included Ms. Ho Ngo Anh Dao - Head of the Faculty, and Ms. Dang My Thanh - Deputy Head of the Faculty. The leadership from Ashigara Environment Company included Mr. Onaka Fujio - Senior Advisor, and Mr. Kato Kenyu - Deputy Director.
Ashigara Environment Company, with over 60 years of experience in the environmental field in Japan, is headquartered in Minamiashigara City, the center of the Ashigara region, Kanagawa Peninsula, 80 km west of Tokyo. The company invests and operates in the environmental sector, including: (i) sorting, recycling, and waste treatment; (ii) investment, management, and operation of centralized wastewater treatment systems; (iii) consulting and implementing carbon neutrality solutions; (iv) investment in the production of bio pellets; and (v) environmental education.
The company is currently planning a survey project in the environmental field with the goal of expanding its business operations in Vietnam, combined with training to raise environmental awareness, especially among students.
The company also actively participates in environmental education activities, including using school sessions to address waste-related issues. The company believes that daily accumulation of environmental knowledge will lead to waste reduction and improved waste sorting capabilities in each household.
