Internship at Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve

On December 31, 2023, the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety - Ton Duc Thang University organized a study program for over 60 first-year students majoring in Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering Technology. The program involved practical training at Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, which is recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site. The objective of the trip was to provide students with hands-on experience and raise awareness about the significance of preserving biodiversity and mangrove ecosystems. During the trip, the students had the opportunity to listen to experts who introduced the scientific values of Can Gio mangrove forests. They also learned about environmental issues that pose a threat to biodiversity, such as environmental pollution and climate change. Additionally, the students actively participated in field survey activities and observed biological diversity. These experiences are expected to have a profound impact on their understanding and sense of responsibility towards nature conservation.
