The Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety launches a short-term study–exchange program at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU), Thailand

The Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Technology at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU), Thailand, successfully organized the short-term study–exchange program “Low Carbon Pathway to Sustainability” from January 5 to 9, 2026. This activity is part of the ongoing international cooperation between the two institutions, aiming to create a multicultural academic environment that enables students to access new knowledge and broaden their perspectives on sustainable development in a global context.

On the first day, the student delegation visited Ayutthaya Historical Park and explored Thailand’s cultural heritage values, thereby enhancing their understanding of the connection between cultural conservation, tourism, and sustainable development. On the second day, VRU hosted a formal welcome ceremony led by Vice President - Assistant Professor Dr. Pannraphat Takolpukdee, followed by networking activities and academic workshops on carbon footprints, clean energy, and emission management.

A highlight of the program was the field study trip to the Thai–Danish Dairy Farm, where students explored the agro-tourism model, learned about milk production and quality-control processes, and observed the farm’s environmental management system—from organic waste treatment and wastewater management to emission-reduction practices in livestock and food processing operations. In the evening, students joined a night safari at Khao Yai National Park, offering a unique experience observing wildlife ecology.

The fourth day began with a morning bird-watching activity, followed by a scientific exchange session at Khao Yai National Park, where students learned about forest ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and the role of forests in regulating the climate. At the end of the day, the group returned to Bangkok to prepare for the remaining program activities.

On the final day, the delegation participated in an academic sharing session to reflect on lessons learned and propose sustainable solutions based on the knowledge and experiences gained throughout the program. Students who completed the required assessments received a certificate from VRU, recognizing their academic effort and international engagement.

The program not only helped TDTU students strengthen their disciplinary knowledge, integration skills, and global mindset but also contributed to further strengthening the strategic partnership between TDTU and VRU in training, research, and future academic development.
